Geographers in New York City

A small group of Lower Sixth geographers travelled to the Big Apple at Easter as part of the AS course that demands the detailed study of a large urban area and the environmental effects of growth. Much was packed into a very full itinerary that combined data collection in Harlem and the Upper East Side with activities such as:

Cycling along the West Side ~ Playing baseball and boating in Central Park ~ Visiting MOMA and museums of Natural History & City of New York ~ Travelling on Staten Island Ferry to view Liberty ~ Touring United Nations ~ Viewing from Empire State Building and Rockefeller Centre ~ Sampling the bagels from a deli ~ Spending afternoon with High School students ~ Supersized burgers!
